I grew uo in Southern California, but I was away for 11 years so I question my memories if our weather. Nonetheless, it seems much more changeable than it used to be. When I lived in Connecticut, people would say "if you don't like the weather, wait five minutes and it will change.". We haven't quite reached that level of unpredictability in Los Angeles yet, but we do seem to have a different climate from one day to the next. Record heat (113 degrees in October) then cold and rainy for days (unusual for So Cal at any time except January & February). Hot over the weekend, then misty and cold in the mornings like we usually have in June.
So, for this bike rider, how to dress each day remains a challenge. I'm glad that I have to notice the weather, though. We spend altogether too much time in buildings and cars here, despite the generally congenial climate. Thank heaven for last weekend's CicLAvia which succeeded in pulling 100,000 Angelenos out into the streets by closing off a seven-mile stretch of roads to traffic.
